About Course

The hospitality industry is large and diverse and it is a truly global phenomenon. Diversity is found in dining enterprises that range from the fine food of the small exclusive chef/proprietor owned restaurants found in Edinburgh or Paris to all day street food in Moroccan bazaars or Chinese street corners, or from floating restaurants along the Mississippi River to international fast food chains in New York, Moscow or Beijing, serving millions of meals annually. Similarly diversity is found in the provision of accommodation ranging, for example, from cruise liners, international hotel chains, country house hotels or national/safari park lodges to bed and breakfasts and back packers hostels. Your studies focus on the management of food, beverage and accommodation in a service context from both a technical and operational perspective. These industry specific areas will be strongly underpinned by studies in general business subjects such as marketing, human resource and financial management. Furthermore you will have the opportunity to participate in a work placement in industry in either a national or international setting and this will enable you to achieve your personal career goals.

Duration: 3 years Fulltime

Eligibility:

Candidates who are 10+2 pass, with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks

Aptitude for the Hospitality / Service industry as demonstrated through a personal interview Written and spoken fluency in English

Candidates may be asked to take a written entrance test

Admission Process

Copies of certificates attached to the application form, should be attested by the Principal of the School/Institute or a Gazetted Officer or Special Executive Magistrate. Original Certificate will have to be produced at the time of scrutiny of application prior to admission.

Application for admission will not be considered unless it is :

  • Properly and correctly filled in
  • Accompanied by attested copies of the requisite certificates in support of the claims made in the application
  • Received in the office on the last date & time prescribed.

Upon submission of application, selected candidates will be called to write an entrance examination & undergo interviews, as part of the selection process.

Fees

Tuition and other fees for the various programs conducted by the institute are subject to prescription by the respective Government /Regulatory body and / or by the Institute from time to time.

Tuition and other fees may vary, depending on the program & campus. Certain Additional Changes, not included in the tuition fees may be applicable.

Students Internship

At ITM-IHM, real time experiences form an integral part of our programs. Hence Summer/Winter internship, as well as concurrent training by way of Hotel Waitings and Out Door Catering form an important part of the Hotel Management curriculum and is mandatory. During the Six Months Industrial Training students are rotated in all the four core operational departments such as Food and Beverage Service, Food Production, Front Office and Housekeeping. This gives them a deep insight into the working of a hotel and eventually also helps them decide on their department of interest in which they specialize.
