Bachelor in International Hospitality Management
Course Details:
The hospitality industry is large and diverse and it is a truly global phenomenon. Diversity is found in dining enterprises that range from the fine food of the small exclusive chef/proprietor owned restaurants found in Edinburgh or Paris to all day street food in Moroccan bazaars or Chinese street corners, or from floating restaurants along the Mississippi River to international fast food chains in New York, Moscow or Beijing, serving millions of meals annually. Similarly diversity is found in the provision of accommodation ranging, for example, from cruise liners, international hotel chains, country house hotels
or national/safari park lodges to bed and breakfasts and back packers hostels. Your studies focus on the management of food, beverage and accommodation in a service context from both a technical and operational perspective. These industry specific areas will be strongly underpinned by studies in general business subjects such as marketing, human resource and financial management. Furthermore you will have the opportunity to participate in a work placement in industry in either a national or international setting and this will enable you to achieve your personal career goals.
