BACHELOR OF MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE
The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) is a comprehensive 4-year degree program designed to prepare students for the evolving healthcare and diagnostics industry. In the initial years, students build a strong foundation in medical sciences, diagnostics, microbiology, hematology, clinical biochemistry, and laboratory techniques. The curriculum combines academic learning with hands-on practical training, enabling students to develop the technical expertise required to operate advanced laboratory instruments and technologies used in modern healthcare.
As students progress through the program, they gain specialized knowledge in areas such as Clinical Biochemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, and Pathology. The program also includes a 1-year clinical internship that provides real-world exposure in hospitals, diagnostic centres, and pathology laboratories under the guidance of certified healthcare professionals. This practical training helps students build industry-relevant skills, confidence, and professional experience, preparing them for successful careers in the healthcare sector.
Bachelor of Optometry
The Bachelor of Optometry (B.Opto) is a 5-year program designed to train students in eye care, vision science, and ocular health. This program focuses on both the theoretical foundation and practical expertise needed to diagnose and manage various eye conditions. Students gain in-depth knowledge of medical sciences and visual intervention techniques to provide effective eye care solutions.
At ITM IHS, we go beyond classroom learning by offering hands-on clinical training and exposure to advanced diagnostic tools such as the Retinoscope and Slit Lamp. As part of the program, students complete a mandatory 1-year clinical internship, where they train under experienced healthcare professionals. The curriculum also includes Business-Focused Training, Foreign Language Learning (Focused on Middle Eastern and African Markets), and Industry-Relevant Certifications, preparing students for a global career opportunity in Optometry.
