MISSION
ITM–Center for Supply Chain and Logistics Research is an initiative by ITM faculty from Operations, Marketing, Information Technology and Economics with common interests in the design, operation, and economics of supply chains and research thereof. The Center has the following objectives:
- To provide a research platform to academicians and industry practitioners.
- To provide a forum for discussion and dissemination of ideas through publications
- To organize regularly seminars, workshops, colloquiums and conferences
- To collaborate with industry through industry sponsored projects and faculty consulting
- To enhance educational programs and industry outreach through short courses, degree certificates, and possibly a new degree
The mission of the ITM-Center for Supply Chain and Logistics Research is:
“To encourage the research in supply chain and logistics management amongst academicians and industry practitioners and integration of the research into the graduate programs in Supply Chain Management at the ITM Business School”.
The research will provide a continuous flow of new information that will be introduced in the curriculum in order to ensure that the Supply Chain Management graduates have the latest information in the field as they transition into the workforce. The research work at CSCLR will disseminate its research work in a series of published books, periodicals and academic research articles. Finally, CSCLR has a major goal of providing executive education in this field through a variety of learning sessions like Certification Programmes, Degree Programmes and Management Development Programmes in Supply Chain and Logistics Management. These programmes emphasize hands-on learning experiences with software applications in addition to business simulations.
CSCLR will Leverage the knowledge gained from research, to provide comprehensive consulting services to help organizations move with confidence into the new supply chain environment.
PEOPLE
Vinod V. Sople, Ph.D. – Research Center Head, Director ITM-SIA Business School, Dombivli, Mumbai and Professor of Logistics and Marketing. He worked in industry for 25 years and in academics for 10 years. He authored four books (including a book on Logistics Management) and several research papers in journals and conferences in India and abroad. He is chief editor of ‘International Journal of Business Insights and Transformation; a bi-annual published by ITM Business School, Navi Mumbai.
Ganesh Raja, Ph.D. –Management Graduate from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai and has over 21 years of experience in the Service industry. He was associated with Credit Market Services Limited (a Financial Technologies ecosystem venture), Bahrain Economic Development Board as Country Manager for the India and Dun & Bradstreet and was part of the start-up team that orchestrated the India launch. In his engagement with ITC Welcomgroup he was responsible for Market Development and Product launches. Currently, he is Director at ITM Business School, Navi Mumbai,
A.K. Dasbiswas, M.Sc, Adv.Dip.in Mgt, PhD - He is Professor Emeritus at ITM Business School, Kharghar. He worked for nearly 34 years in various business marketing firms. He was chief executive officer/EVP of Herdillia, STP, Shalimar Paints, Mangalam Timber, Kemp and Smith Stanistreet etc. He had teaching experience of over 12 years in various B-Schools (IIMC, S.P. Jain, ITM, Great Lake). His last assignment was Dean ITM Business School, Kharghar. He had consultancy assignments from Mafatlal Industries, SKF Bearings, Herdillia, HOC, Tata Donnelley, Reliance Industries, BASF, ISSAL/ISMT, Wochardt, GSK, EID Parry etc.
C.S. Adhikari, Ph.D. – Dean (Academics), ITM business School and Professor of Economics. He worked more than 25 years in teaching, research and worked with of IIM Lucknow, Giri Institute of Development Studies and ITM Navi Mumbai. He completed several government sponsored projects in the area of economics.
Milind Soman, B.Sc.(Engg), MMS, CISA (Certified Information System Auditor). He is professor of Information Technology, ITM Business School, Navi Mumbai. He has over 20 years experience in application software development, management and consulting. His experience covers running independent business unit and IT strategic consulting & audit.
Milind Patil, B.E., PGDM, Ph.D. – Management Consultant for Supply Chain Solutions. He is engineer by profession and holds Ph.D. degree in supply chain management and having over 18 years of work experience in IT industry as a head of supply chain solution division.
Pradip Tungare, B.E. (Chemical Engg), MMS, Professor of Operations Management, ITM Business School, Navi Mumbai. He worked in industry for 35 years in operations and in academics for over 15 years. His area of interest and teaching is operations, supply chain and project management. He taught in various prestigious b-Schools in Mumbai and he is also a management consultant to many companies.
Prof B.V.R.Murty, M.Tech. (IIT Madras) - Dy. Director, ITM Global Leadership Center and professor of operations management, ITM Business School, Navi Mumbai. He worked in industry (L&T) over 28 years in production, operations and planning. His areas of research and publications include quality & technology management. He published papers in national and international journals and conferences.
Ranjan Ghosh, M.Pham, MBA, Ph.D. – Associate Professor, ITM Business School, Navi Mumbai. He holds Ph.D. degree in Supply Chain Management and currently pursuing Post Doctoral Research in Nano Supply Chain Management at NIPER. He worked in Industry for 20 years in the areas of operations, project development, technical services, business development, and supply chain management.
Kirti Arekar, M. Sc. Ph.D. (Statistics) - Assistant Professor with ITM Business School, Navi Mumbai, teaching quantitative methods & techniques. She has large number of papers published in conferences and journals.
ACTIVITIES
The center is actively involved in supply chain research, people development & training, company based management development programmes, consultancy, publications, conducting workshops, conferences, seminars etc
Running ‘Advance Supply Chain Management’ Certification Program forworking executives in logistics and supply chain discipline and also for MBA students who want to acquire advance knowledge in supply chain management.
