1. One day seminar on Insurance Sector – Paradigms, Practices and Challenges – was held on 25th January 2006. There were four technical sessions covering general and Life Insurance in public and private sectors. The guest speakers included Mr. S. Giridhar, RM, M/s. Oriental Insurance Co., Mr. D. 2. One day workshop on Cutting Edge Selling Skills was conducted on 6th February, 2006 by Mr. Achal. N. Rengaswamy, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, M/s. Bell Ceramics Ltd., Baroda.

3. One day seminar Legal System in Business Management – Principles and practices was held on 11th February, 2006. The guest speakers included Mr. T. A. Srinivasan, Head, M/s. HCL Technologies, Chennai, Mr. A. Sridhar, Divisional Operating Manager, Southern Railway and Mr. K. S. Pasupathi, GM – IR, M/s. Shasun Chemicals & Drugs Ltd., Chennai.

4. One day Workshop on Transactional Analysis, was conducted on 16th February, 2006 by Dr. T. S. Radhakrishnan, CEO, People's Systems, Chennai. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. V. Ramachandran, Director – HR, M/s. Murugappa Group, Chennai.

5. One day Seminar on Supply Chain Management was held on 18th February, 2006. The guest speakers included Mr. T. N. Srinivasan, Management Consultant, Mr. P. V. Santhanakrishnan, Management Consultant and Mr. Seshadri, Director, M/s. Take Solutions.

6. One day Seminar on Six Sigma was held on 20th February, 2006. The guest speakers included Prof. R.V. Ramakrishnan and Mr. B. S. Subramanian, consultants and Mr. K. Nagaraja Kumar, Head, L & T Business Group, Chennai.

7. There was a post – budget seminar on the implications of Union Budget 2006 – 2007 on 3rd March, 2006. The panel of experts included Mr. N. S. Govindan, leading Financial Consultant and Mr. L. Venkatesan, Corporate Advisor, TVS Electronics Ltd. There was an interesting question and answer session.

8. There was a one day workshop on Personality Development for first year students on 6th March 2006 under the guidance of Mr. Terence Shenoy, Professional Trainer and HR Consultant.

9. There was a one day seminar on Entrepreneurship Development Programme on 11th March, 2006. The guest speakers included Dr. R. Balasubramanian, Executive Director, Indian Institute of Leather Products, Dr. R. Natarajan, MD, Entrepreneurship Promotion Institute of Chennai & Mrs. & Mr. Sivasubramanian, the entrepreneurs from Bio Technology Park, Siruseri.

10. One day Retail Management Programme was organised on 6th April, 2006. The guest speakers were eminent personalities from the field of Retailing.

11. One day workshop on Personality Development for Junior students was conducted by Mr. Suresh Pillai, Country Manager, HR, Areva T & D, Chennai on 7th April 2006.

12. A second Workshop of Soft Skills in Management was conducted on 11th April, 2006 by Mr. Achal. N. Rengaswamy, Senior VP (Marketing), Bell Ceramics Ltd., Baroda.

13. A one day workshop on Team Building was conducted by Mr. K. Manivannan, GM (Training & Development), Sundaram Finance on 13th April 2006 for first year students.

14. Ms. Poonam Ashara, & Ms. Anusha, conducted a workshop on 15th February 2007 on “HR Practices in Indian IT Industry”.

15. Symposium on Union Budget 2007 – 2008. The Guest Speakers were Mr. N. Venkateswaran, Chartered Accountant & Vice President Tamilnadu Investors Association & Mr. S. Narayanan, Chartered Accountant, there were also a question & answer session.

16. There was a Seminar on Retail Management. The Guest Speakers were Mr. S. Krishnamurthy, Alphabetics & Mr. S. Mahadevan, Management Consultant.

17. Ms. Ranjana Sridhar, Asst. Vice President/Training, Southern Zone, M/s. Axis Bank, Chennai delivered a guest lecture on “Emerging Trends in Banking” on 08.08.2007 (Forenoon) for Junior students.

18. Mr. V. Sridharan, Asst. General Manager- International Banking, M/s. State Bank of India, Chennai conducted guest lecture on 08.08.2007 (After noon) on the topic “Basics of Foreign Exchange” for Junior Students..

19. Mr. Suri Srinivasan, Head/HR, M/s. HCL Technologies, Chennai conducted guest lecture on “Emerging Opportunites in 'IT' Ssector” for Senior students on 11.08.2007.

20. The Institute for Technology and Management, Chennai has organised an HR CONVENTION, HORIZON '07 on 9th September 2007 at The Residency Towers, Chennai. The convention was inaugurated by Mr. A. K. Pattabiraman, Head – Accreditation Process for Southern India, M/s. TATA Consultancy Services Limited, Chennai. He delivered key note address on the topic “HR Interventions in the Indian Context”. There were three Technical Sessions on IT, Financial and HR Sector.The session on IT sector was chaired by Dr. Ayee Goundan, Managing Director, M/s. Atheros India, LLC. The panelists were Mr. R. Kannan, Manager/HR, M/s. Redington India Ltd., Chennai and Mr. Chirag J. Bhatt, second year PGDBM student of ITM, chennai.The second Technical session on Financial Sector was chaired by Mr. P. K. Gopalakrishnan, VP – Hr, M/s. Indus Ind Bank, Chennai. The panelists were Mrs. Ranjana Sridhar, AVP Training, SZ, M/s. AXIS ank, Chennai and Ms. R. Deepa, second year PGDBM student of ITM, Chennai.The final Technical session on Cross Cultural HR Practices was addtessed by Mrs. Rangapriya Kannan Narasimhan, M/s. Anderson School of Management, UCLA – California. There was an Open House session with the participants. Earlier, Dr. P. V. Raghavan, Director, ITM, Chennai welcomed the audience. Dr. N G Kannan, Dean ITM, Chennai, gave an overview of Horizon '07. Many HR managers from Corporate Houses and Students from Business Schools attended the Convention.

21. MOU between HDFC and ITM was signed on 18th September 2007. Under the MOU, HDFC will conduct a Joint Certification Program for second year students and also offer placements to students who complete the program successfully.

22. Seminar on “Investor Education” was held on 21st November 2007, for first year students. Mr. AN.Annamalai, Managing Partner, ICICI Pru Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Gave a lecture on “Insurance – An Investment Product”. Mr. Kannan, Manager - Sales, Kodak Mahindra AMC, Chennai delivered a lecture on “Mutual Fund”. The Topic on “Equity as Investment Product” was taken by Mr. Jermiah Jeyakaran, Territory Manager, 5PISA.COM, Chennai. Prof. N.Venkateswarn, gave vote of thanks.

23. The Annual Meet “Sambandh '07” held on 1st December 2007 at The Residency Towers. About 150 Alumni participated in the Annual reunion. The meet provided excellent interaction between the past students and strengthened the bonds of friendship in the ITM, family.

24. A seminar on “Selling Life3 Saving Technology” was conducted by Mr. Madan Kumar, LiveMedica on 19th January 2008.

25. A workshop on “Leadership and Management was conducted by Dr.Joseph Michelli at Hotel Ambassador Pallava on 26th January 2008.
