The 8th National HR Conference
The Institute for Technology and Management (ITM ), a premier management institute in Navi Mumbai, accredited by NAAC with an 'A' grade was established in the year 1991, in academic collaboration with the southern New Hampshire university, Manchester, U.K. 19 years since its inception, ITM has not only spread it' s wings across India, but also has earned recognition of various academia and industrial associations. Recent National B School rankings have placed ITM among the best in India.
A snapshot of ranking of previous years : 1. Ranked 6th in “Ranking of Top B- Schools in Excellence” in CSR – GHRDC B- School Survey (2010). 2. Ranked 23rd under “ Perceptual Overall” by Business World (2011).
In the preceding years, ITM has organized several regional and national level HR conferences. In the year 2009 ITM in collaboration with CII , organized a highly successful national level HR conference on “ HRM Practices in Indian SME Sector” which attracted eminent speakers from various reputed organizations like, ICICI, IDBI, SIDBI, TATA Sons, L&T, IOC and BSNL who shared their rich insightful knowledge and experience with the audience.
Last year the theme for HR conference was “ Business Excellence Through Innovative HR practices”. The conference brought together over 300 delegates , speakers and other participants from the HR fields. Participants were from reputed organizations like, RIL, Mahindra & Mahindra, ESSAR Engineering services, Raymond's Ltd, OMCI Ship Management, Infogenia, NEN, Blue Dart Ltd etc. ONGC was the principal sponsor for the conference. Faculty delegates from reputed educational institutions from India and abroad had their representations in the conference.
With this backdrop the conference theme of 8th national HR conference is “REINVENTING HR IN COMING DECADE”
The turbulence caused by the globalization syndrome has led the corporate sector to discover new ways of operating and surviving at the global level in almost all levels of management. In order to be successful in today's business environment companies are trying hard to come out of the traditional mindset of the industrial economy and acclimatizes themselves to the realities of knowledge and information economy. As organizations trends and demands change, new ways of thinking and operating are becoming essential. HR professionals are no exceptions to add value in the new economy and emerging organizations. Thus,they must play new roles and demonstrate broader competencies.
The new economy is the most virulent part of the knowledge based economy. It is an important stepping stone towards it. New economy is the LPG economy (Liberalization, Privatization and globalization ) due to which firms HR professionals faces myriad of new expectations and challenges in shaping the organizations human resource function.
Objective:
To provide a platform where both academia and industry professionals, management students can deliberate, discuss and develop some competitive and innovative HR strategies to create high performing business organizations.
