As a requirement for admission, several universities now accept national and state-level entrance exam scores. There are many exams conducted on an annual basis that will grant you admission to some of the best universities in the country.

Of the many exams that are conducted, MAH CET is a test conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell in Maharashtra. The MAH CET score will grant you admission to some of the best b-schools in the state.

What is the MAH CET exam?
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test or MAH CET exam is one of the state-level entrance exams conducted for admission to universities in Maharashtra. Officially known as MMS-CET or MAH MBA, clearing this exam will allow you to consider some of th best MBA and PGDM courses offered in the state.

What are the Important Dates for MAH CET?
The exam dates for MAH CET are usually announced in March every year. In 2022, the registration portal for the exam was open from March 17th to April 20th.
While registering for the exam, it is important to ensure that you have all relevant documentation prepared before you begin the process. This can save you an ample amount of time and allow you to finish your registration efficiently. Every year, the portal opens on the official website of the exam.
You will also be required to pay a registration fee. Common payment methods include net banking and UPI gateways. Once your payment has been successfully processed, you should receive a receipt and confirmation of your registration at your provided email address.
The next step of the process is downloading your admit card. The admit card is often live a couple of weeks before the MAH CET exam is conducted.
As per the dates released by the Maharashtra government, the MAH CET exam for 2022 will be conducted on the 24th, 25th, and 26th of June. The exam will be conducted in a series of two sessions that are spread across several predetermined test centres across 48 cities in India.
Your admit card will have all the relevant details of the nearest test centre. All necessary information with regards to appearing for the exam will also be mentioned in detail. You must go through all of these details well in advance before you appear for the exam.
The MAH CET date of result declaration will be announced a couple of weeks after you have completed the test. Much like your admit card, your scorecard will be available for download from the official website of the test.
Finally, you will also be granted to opportunity to participate in a Centralised Counselling Process (CAP). This is conducted between September and October and you will be required to register for the same on the website.
What are the Eligibility Criteria for MAH CET?
To be eligible for the MAH CET paper, you should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. You should also have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for candidates from reserved categories).
If you are in the final year of your bachelor’s degree and are awaiting your results, you are eligible to appear for the MAH CET exam.

The MAH CET exam is divided into four sections which are as follows:

The MAH CET exam pattern is as follows:

It is important to note that the MAH CET exam is a computer-based test that is in the medium of English. The total exam duration is 150 minutes.
Concerning the marking scheme, each correct answer is awarded one mark. There is no negative marking in this exam.
What are the Dos and Don’ts for the MAH CET Exam Date?
Being well prepared for every aspect of the exam day can ensure that you put your best foot forward and give the exam your sincerest efforts.
Given that the exam is conducted in the online mode for two and a half hours, you are expected to reach the designated exam centre well in advance. This is primarily because of the identification process that needs to be completed before you attempt the exam.
Here are the common dos and don’ts that you should be aware of for the final day:
Dos:
- It is recommended that you wear a face mask at all times and carry a personal hand sanitiser to the exam centre.
- Be sure to maintain social distancing norms during the exam.
- You will be required to carry a black or blue ball-point pen to sign the attendance sheet.
- The exam instructions will be displayed to you before the exam begins. Be sure to go through each instruction thoroughly so you are aware of how to attempt the paper.
- Follow all the rules that are listed on the admit card. Not cooperating with the same can result in termination of the exam.
- It is also recommended that you reach the centre at least 2 hours before the commencement of the exam.
Don’ts:
- You will not be permitted to leave the exam centre at any point during the exam without the invigilator’s permission.
- It is also recommended that you do not wear any items that contain metal.
- Food will not be permitted inside the exam centre.
- You will also be prohibited from bringing electronic gadgets such as digital watches, calculators, and mobile phones into the examination room.
What is the MAH CET CAP?
The MAH MBA CET exam includes a counselling session referred to as the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). CAP is conducted by the authority of the State Common Entrance Test Cell and is designed to allot seats to test-takers in all participating institutes.
If you are a student outside Maharashtra, you will be required to submit valid ATMA/XAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT/CAT scores for admission to colleges in Maharashtra that fall under the MAH CET counselling wing.
The MAH CET CAP takes place in a series of 3 rounds for both, aspirants in Maharashtra and those outside Maharashtra.
The registration fee for MAH CET counselling is INR 1000 which is expected to be paid at the time of completing the application. If you are from the Reserved category, you will have to pay INR 800.
Once you have been selected, the next step includes visiting the designated counselling centre to verify your documents and complete the session.
What is the Difficulty Level of MAH CET?
MAH CET is considered comparatively easier compared to other national-level MBA entrance exams such as XAT, CAT, and GMAT. However, successfully clearing this exam will grant you admission to some of the top universities in Maharashtra that offer a high return on investment MBA and PGDM courses.
