How to prepare for hotel management entrance exams
Following the below points will help you to adhere to the hotel management qualifications while opting for the entrance exams.
Though there is never a one size fits all approach, we will still be listing out a couple of pointers that will help you prepare for hotel management entrance exams -
Preparing an exam timetable
A clear action goal for the exam can be defined with the use of an appropriate timetable. The timetable should be set up in a way that the candidate has more time to attempt all the questions. Set weekly goals for yourself and practice to meet those timelines efficiently. Stick to the study schedule and your new writing habits as you attempt the examination.
Being abreast of the current ongoings
One year previous to the exam, candidates should begin reading newspapers, books, and other informative material. This will not only help applicants keep up with current events and general information, but it will also help them enhance their vocabulary and reading comprehension skills.
When studying for the NCHMCT JEE, which has five sections, having a decent set of study materials is usually beneficial. Other resources include opting for online resources like ebooks, podcasts, and other resources. Opting for webinars may also help the candidate.
Candidates should study from the most up-to-date books on the market.
While studying for the NCHMCT JEE exam, it is important to hold your health to a prime position. Good health will allow you to devote more time to exam preparation.
To keep incredibly active and avoid junk food, eat a nutritious diet while studying for the exam. Also, obtain seven to eight hours of sleep each night. The candidate may also resort to practices like meditation and breathing exercises to relax and focus better.
Brushing up your language skills
The English Language component of the NCHMCT JEE is a high-scoring one, and how well you know it depends entirely on your prior knowledge.
Review the grammar topics thoroughly, brush up on your vocabulary by reading newspapers and daily articles, and practice reading and analyzing passages, which can help you to ace the tests with better grades.
Solving previous years papers
Solving past year papers might help you figure out the NCHMCT 2022 JEE exam pattern, level of difficulty, and essential exam subjects. While solving mock papers, you will improve your speed and accuracy in answering exam questions.
To evaluate your performance, try solving sample papers in a stressful and time-constrained environment.
It can be best to concentrate on the topics or themes with which you have the most difficulty. Ensure to consistently review and improve your weak areas in preparation for the exam.
Consider all of the themes or topics that could be covered on the exam and logically arrange them. This could be done in chronological, sequential, or another manner.
Request information from friends who have already taken the entrance exam you will be taking on the themes that came upon their exam. Yours will most certainly differ, but their perspective might help you narrow down your review themes.
Aptitude for service selection
One of the most difficult portions of the NCHMCT JEE exam is an aptitude for service selection. The questions in this section are related to the hospitality industry.
Candidates should begin reading travel and tourism-related books such as Outlook Traveller, Go Now, and Destination India to gain a thorough understanding of the industry.
Most people believe that after completing a course from the school, they can only work at the front desk of a hotel. This, however, is a widespread misconception. Most institutions now offer diplomas, short-term courses, and specialized courses in culinary arts, housekeeping, and other related fields.
As a result, an aspirant can aim to become a hotel manager, chef, food and beverage manager, and so on after completing a course at a good and reputable institution. However, it is vital to note that the majority of the reputed courses in the institutes undertake a screening round/test to shortlist students for admission.
