The first session of the ‘Expert Talk’ series, organized by the Marketing Department, ITM Kharghar, witnessed an energetic and insightful talk by Mr. Bharat Oswal – Chief Happiness Officer @ Botree.in, Organiser at TedxPune & CII Young Indians.

The students of the marketing batches attended the lecture. Mr. Bharat discussed the various shades of digital marketing. He highlighted the need to observe things on digital platform and analyse how things operate in the digital media since it is all about observation. He emphatically stressed on the importance of digital media to reach out to the potential consumers of today as they are highly connected to the digital means of branding. He expressed optimism about the job opportunities in the digital world as roughly Rs.8.5 thousand crores are being spent on digital advertising every year by the companies. He explained the power of content marketing as today anyone can develop his or her own content. While stating the benefits of social media on one hand, he also cautioned the students on the other, against its ill effects as excessive usage of social media is no less than addiction to gambling. He advised the students to develop an acute curiosity to comprehend how digital branding works and why. He also advised the students to take ownership of things, because things will change only when we start taking ownership. The speaker also was keen on handling the relevant queries coming from the audiences. In short, it was a grand beginning of the ‘Expert Talk’ series by the department of Marketing, ITM Kharghar
