Keeping in mind the tradition of putting it’s hand up in service of the community, Eco club of ITM Group of Institutions organized the “Again Beach Cleaning Drive” on 27th of August, 2017 at the Shivaji Park Dadar Beach which commenced at 7:30am, where the group of 50 student volunteers came together for beach clean drive and invested its rigorous hours in collecting all the waste from the immersion process. In span of three hours around 100 bags were filled with waste collection from the beach. All waste from chocolate wrapper to shoe and debris picked up by the student volunteers using a pair of gloves and mask, thus ensuring personal hygiene, too. The waste that floats in the sea collected and gathered in gunny bags. The remains of idol immersed properly in the sea while all the other waste including garlands gathered and given to the BMC for recycling. Plastic waste formed a major chunk of the garbage.

Through this legacy project, Eco Club members aims to set an example to the youth of the city and encourage them to be an active and conscious part of the cause towards a cleaner city. Also, through this event it aims to highlight the fact that the common man is also responsible for keeping the environment clean and pollution-free, and not just the BMC.
