This time students received nuggets of wisdom as they listened to a panel discussion organised by the department of Operations & SCM on ushering the future of Electric Vehicles in India.
The discussion, titled LET us change the way we travel - Adopt EV, welcome industry stalwarts and thought leaders in the domain and headed by Dr. Arloph John Vieira.
The panelists interacted on the aspects of consuming renewable energy and electrical energy to reduce pollution caused by fossil fuel. Sighting the example of China and the Western World, which have already moved ahead in shifting to electric vehicles with production and consumption, the panel suggests that India needs a solid plan to catch up with them. Keeping in sight the Government’s plan to become a solar empowered country by 2025, the country needs a workable plan, initiative, & extensive R&D to explore more possibilities. Need of extensive infrastructural development and establishing strong operation and supply chain management systems was also highlighted during the discussion.
The panel urged to take into consideration the environmental impact caused by conventional automobiles and take measures to encourage buyers to adopt electric vehicles. They suggest that there is a need to assess market demand as we move forward. The discussion concluded with a vote of thanks to the panelists.
