In order to be adaptive during these trying times,Finance forum, Department of Finance, ITM Business School, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai organized a Guest lecture on the topic “Career Choices in Big 4 and IPCs (Consulting) for Finance Graduates” for the PGDM Finance, IFM and Fintech2019-21 Batch Students on 5th September 2020. It was very informative and interactive session. The Guest Speaker for the session was Mr. Sayantan Pande who is currently designated as the Associate Director, Head – Infrastructure, Financing & Real Estate Valuation, KPMG in Qatar. He is an esteemed ITM alumnus of PGDM Finance 2010-12 Batch.
Mr. Sayantan has over 12 years of diverse functional experience which includes Advisory, Transactions, Project Management, Business Development & CRM across the Middle East, and South Asia.
The aim of the guest lecture series is to equip students with the latest theories and practices in the modern financial world. This guest lecture series will aim to pool the ideas of academicians and practitioners for enriching the students’ community.
He began the lecture by stating a quote “Winners don’t do things differently. They do things differently” - Shiv Khera, followed by various other quotes by other famous authors. According to him if one is believing in herself/ himself and is willing to take the risk, then she/ he can achieve any milestone in the career.
The speaker stressed upon clear directions that the students must have a strong knowledge about Financing Modelling, Valuation, Project Finance, DCF Model, which are very important.
He also informed the students about the various career opportunities in IPCs for finance graduates in the fields of Research, Consulting, Transactions, PDS (Project Development Services) & IFM. Further, he also elucidated about various career opportunities in Big 4s such as KPMG, Deloitte, E&Y & PWC.
After delivering his lecture he encouraged students to clear their doubts and clarified many doubts of the budding managers.
It was a very informative and interactive session where students came to know about the career choices in Big 4s & IPCs (Consulting).
It was also a great initiative taken by the faculties of Finance Forum for conducting this wonderful session of knowledge sharing and gaining virtually especially during this pandemic.
This wonderful session ended chanting a shloka on the auspicious day of Teacher’s day and by taking a group picture.
