On 10th June 2022, Mr. Piyush Saini held a session on the “Procurement Process” for the students of Operations Management and Supply Chain Management (OM&SCM) through google meet platform. Mr. Piyush is an alumnus of ITM Business School of the 2017-2019 batch. He is currently working in TCS as Business Process Lead.
Students from OM&SCM 2020-22 and 2021-23 batch attended the session and got to learn from Mr. Piyush about how the procurement process is an important part of any organization be it manufacturing or IT-based.
He described his internship experience and also gave us tips on how we should learn and improve. He described about various roles of a procurement person and how the work is carried out. He explained the difference between the procurement and purchasing process, and the evolution of procurement.
He then explained how we should prepare ourselves for the future so that we have an edge over our competitors, and how additional learning and certifications will help us in having that edge.
The session showed how procurement is an essential part of any organization.
Overall, it was a great learning and a very interactive session. We thank Mr. Piyush Saini for taking up this session so we can gain insights into the Procurement process in any organization.
