One of our students also wrote some few words on the celebration of Republic Day and why he feels sad on Republic day. His thoughts raised many questions in our minds as to why we should play the national anthems only on two days i.e. Independence day and Republic Day and why it cannot be played once in a day on the radio and on television. Why our patriotism is reflected on only these two days only just to encash it. He also rightly mentioned that whenever a national anthem is played and he stands up his friends make fun of him which reflects that the feeling of patriotism is slowly diminishing from the hearts of the new generation. The program ended with brief speeches by Prof. B.V.R.Murty, Deputy Director and Dr. Saritprava Das, Associate Dean.

This event was planned and executed by the Cultural Committee - Prof. Arjun Naik and Ms. Jasmine Jha with the help from the Administration department Mr. Sunny Patankar and Sachin Sonavale.

ITM – EEC Leadership Session with Harsha & Anita Bhogle

1st Feb 2013, marked the beginning of a new Innings of ITM - EEC Leadership Series for all esteem alumni’s, faculty members and the ITM fraternity.

The connoisseur couple Harsha Bhogle and Anita Bhogle cast a spell of over an astounded audience when they spoke about the mood mantra of “Winning” and also shared insights while researching for their book ‘The Winning Edge’. Harsha Bhogle who personifies wit and eloquence was equally complemented by his wife Anita Bhogle when it came to connecting with one and all in the audience. The lovely couple stressed on the point that one shouldn’t be judged on skill to be graded as number one. Rather a winner is that person who stretches himself or herself to the fullest best, he or she can be.

If a team needs 20 runs out of 10 balls and the batsman is at 95, then should the batsman play for the century or hit lofty shots for the team…..was one of the questions by Anita to the audience and she added that if one could answer that, then one would know if he or she is a team player. Harsha agreed in tandem that individual goals are important no doubt, but they need to be in sync with team’s goals too.

The rhetoric couple also spoke on the importance of embracing change and winning over inertia for giving that peak performance. No wonder, the entire audience of esteem EEC Alumni’s, faculty members, management students and members of management ITM Group, where all mesmerized and enthralled. So magnetic was the Leadership session that, Prof. RSS Mani – VP, Institutional Development, ITM Group of Institutions very rightly put it “for the very first time nobody was looking at their watches and were all spellbound.”

The evening culminated with dinner and everyone took home a copy of the book “The Winning Edge” authored by the couple.
