Two-day workshop on “New Wave IT Technologies for Marketing” was conducted on 30th August 2019 and 31st August 2019, by the Department of Marketing, at ITM Business School, Kharghar in order to spread the knowledge and usage of Block Chain, Artificial Intelligence, and Analytics in the field of marketing.

Guest’s Profile:

The guest speaker/trainer was Mr. Saikiran Sondarkar, a person having a zeal to experiment with things in varied cutting-edge technologies. He has won titles at National and Government level competitions. He is a B.Tech graduate in Computer Science and Technology form ITM Vocational University, Vadodara. Currently, he is an Executive Assistant to Chairman of ITM Group of Institutions, President of Computer Science and Engg. Chapter ITMVU and also the Vice President of Marketing at Speed India.

Description of the program:

The event started with a welcome address for the guest speaker at 9:30 a.m. Mr. Saikiran Sondarkar emphasized upon the magic that lies in technology and how we can decode it to implement in marketing.

“Necessity is the mother of invention” is the proverb he quoted for the invention of Blockchain which happened due to the massive financial crisis in 2008, to serve as the public transaction ledger of the cryptocurrency bitcoin. Through his profound talk he precisely and effectively covered the following topics:

After all the insightful knowledge about Blockchain, he practically showed us how Blockchain works, followed by a fun interaction round wherein we all played various online quizzes, pertaining to the session. We also learned to publish our own E-Commerce Website on Shopify.in and the workshop got over at 4 p.m.

The second day’s session started at 9:30 a.m. with the wonders of Artificial Intelligence in the present scenario along with its implementation in the field of marketing. He explained how Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) are the hot topics of the 21st century, which in layman words mean the amalgamation of Data, Statistics and Algorithms. He then further went on to elaborate the following topics:

We again had a fun interaction round where we played online quizzes, developed a Chatbot on Chatfuel.com, a Dashboard on Geckoboard.com which could help us in the future ventures. And the workshop ended with a lot of information.

We feel privileged to have attended such a worthy workshop as it was an extremely knowledgeable and fun experience being guided by such an esteemed guest speaker who not only gave us the theoretical knowledge but also the practical knowledge in this workshop. We ardently thank the “INSTITUTION FOR TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT”, Kharghar for giving us such an exposure.
