The World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated on 7th April every year to mark the foundation day of WHO i.e. World Health Organization. It is a specialised organisation located in United Nations whose primary task is to spread awareness on public health.

Every year there is a special theme for the celebration with context to the current scenario related to health concerns and spread awareness on the same. Since its inception, the WHO day had been celebrated with diversified themes – Urbanisation and health, Antimicrobial resistance, Ageing and Health, Healthy Blood Pressure, Diabetes etc.

This year the theme being Depression: Let’s talk – ITM Institute of Health Sciences celebrated the event in its unique way. Selected students with the peers had organised a small program for older people at Shantikunj Sevashram at Kewale – Harigram. The students had a skit especially to make the elderly happy also were handmade gifts and cards distributed by students to bring a smile on the face of the elderly.
