A guest session was organised for students of PGDM-Financial Market on the topic “Capital adequacy of Indian banks with special reference to NPAs and the Recapitalization Plan” on 13th November 2017.The session was conducted by Mr.Sanjiva K Prasad, General Manager (Retd) State Bank of India & Executive Director (Retd) SBI Life Insurance Co Ltd. He has vast experience of 37 years in the BFSI sector.

Mr. Sanjiva started the session speaking about basics of banking , how does a bank work. He spoke on Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) , Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP). He explained the probable reasons for NPA, Impact of NPA, How to tackle NPA’s .Further spoke on recapitalization plans , the impact and issues with regard to that.He also answered queries of students by giving them practical examples.

Mr.Sanjiva was felicitated by Dr. Jyotirmoy Dasgupta.
