Sports Tournaments are great, the hustle is as enjoyable as the victory! Our ITM employees who participated in the Carrom Tournament experienced just that, with over 80 teams (a total of about 180 employees) across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Raipur, Vadodara & Nagpur.
The competition brought out the best of teamwork, coordination, focus, accuracy and strategy planning among our employees.
We started with the elimination rounds at the respective campuses. This created a lot of energy, as the winning team was to represent their campus in the finale. The teams at each location were a mix of departments, gender, age and levels.
This game united employees into teams and created an air of happiness all across the campus.
The game kicked off on 1st March and the finale was conducted on 17th March, almost 15 days of an electrifying environment in the organisation.
The knock-out matches tested the stamina and mental strength of our players. In some campuses, the winning team played nearly 8 to 10 matches, each lasting from 10 minutes to an hour. Moreover, each of the teams had deadlines and work pressure, but it was a passion that kept them going. After multiple rounds, we narrowed down to only 6 teams making it to the finale. The teams were encouraged with good wishes and tips to win the final match.
The game also witnessed equality among all levels, as everyone right from the Attendant to the Chairman played a round of the game!
The final round was organised at the Auditorium of ITM Business School – Kharghar. There were immense enthusiasm and encouragement within the finalist before the event. The 6 teams played amongst each other and there was a point system which helped us to narrow down to 3 teams. In an atmosphere of mental pressure, the fighting spirit didn’t seem to low down.
Ultimately, after hours of tough games, Nagpur team won the title of Championship. Our Chairman, Dr. P. V. Ramana, encouraged and cheered every single participant by his words and involvement. The winning team was presented with a Trophy and gift voucher.
The details of the winners:
