The sessions were facilitated by Mr. Bhagyesh Kataria, Business Development Manager at Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), and his fellow colleague Mr. Taufique. The database can be used for collection of data to do Research projects or knowledge enhancement about companies.

The Economic Outlook provides CMIE’s view on where the economy stands and where it is headed. It is derived from a careful and continuous monitoring of new data releases. To access the CMIE database, one needs a unique username and a password. In case of ProwessIQ, users need to install a setup file and access Knowledge Base. Users can also seek clarifications in the website. Mr Kataria guided the students through the workshop to access Prowess. The students, who need the data for company research and analysis would require the use of Prowess Database. It was a proper path-leading workshop which was helpful for the students and a sheer guidance. The faculty members Prof Geetanjali Pinto and Prof. Uma Ghosh were continuously present throughout the session to guide and mentor the students.

The students of ITM are also thankful to Prof Geetanjali Pinto who arranged the workshop to provide us insight on such an important database available for use at ITM. It was a very knowledgeable experience for the students. They got a close hand-on experience on the usage of CMIE and how to extract the data from it.
