The NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT 2022) will take place between October and December 2022 by NMAT colleges. As daily tests are held, candidates should hunt for a last-minute preparation method. Students must now have finished the NMAT course and be in the process of revising for the NMAT exam.

Complete a few more rounds of revision, take some more NMAT mock tests, and parse the basic and weak areas before sitting the NMAT exam. We offer some last-minute NMAT 2022 preparation suggestions to help you boost your chances of scoring higher on the exam.

Focus on your fundamental concepts

The first and most important thing you should do while studying for the NMAT is to focus on your fundamental concepts. To ensure concept clarity on fundamental equations and number operations, start with the basics, such as LCM and HCF, odd and even integers, and prime numbers. After that, go on to more advanced concepts. Even if you think you've covered a topic before, make sure you go over it again. Don't skip any topics; you never know what the article will bring up. The majority of NMAT questions are based on fundamental principles, therefore make sure you know your fundamentals thoroughly.

In terms of terminology, Make a list of words:

The verbal component of the NMAT appears to be heavy on vocabulary-related questions like synonyms, antonyms, and analogies. Every day, make a list of at least 10 words and revise it. Include words from prior NMAT exam papers, as they tend to repeat a large number of words. Try not only to memorize the word but also to utilize it in a sentence, as you may receive fill-ins based on it.

Focus equally on all sections

Many applicants overlook logical thinking, believing it to be "simple" and "manageable." However, when they take the exam, they discover that they have lost a significant amount of marks just because they did not practice enough! Don't forget to practice LR every day; it's the only way out. The Logical Reasoning section of the NMAT has a wide range of problems, and you'll need some practice to answer them all promptly and accurately. You won't be able to master anything overnight, so keep practicing. Data Interpretation, Quantitative Skills, and DS In this segment, there are 36 questions to answer in 52 minutes, averaging 1.5 minutes per question. Data sufficiency and data interpretation sets are also included. This part covers four major topics: arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and modern mathematics. Language Proficiency (or Verbal Ability) To improve your linguistic abilities section efficiency, you must improve your comprehension skills, which need you to recognize and comprehend the contextual use of words. Regularly reading newspaper editorials is one of the greatest ways to do this.

Sharpen your mental calculating skills:

Because the NMAT is a timed test, you'll want to brush up on multiplication tables, squares, cubes, common fractions, and their percentage counterparts. This allows you to save a lot of time and answer all of the questions swiftly. Both NMAT Quants and DI will benefit from mental computations. You can do particularly well in DI because the majority of the questions are simple yet need a lot of calculation. As a result, if you can mentally answer the numbers rapidly, you will undoubtedly score higher.

Make it a daily habit to read editorials:

Now for the component that the majority of people dislike: linguistic skills. To improve your efficiency, you must improve your comprehension skills, which need you to recognize and comprehend the contextual use of words. Regularly reading newspaper editorials is one of the greatest ways to do this. Not only will your reading speed improve, but you'll also learn new words and improve your general knowledge, which will come in handy. So get into the habit of doing this!

Learn how to solve problems using shortcuts and tricks:

You must master shortcuts and tricks for all sections to maximize your time, speed, and accuracy. Many of these are freely available on the internet. You can learn how to solve questions in Numbers, Allegation, and Mixtures, SI & CI, in Quants. Time, distance, speed, and other questions are commonly asked. Learn how to tackle some common coding and sequencing problems in Logic. They require a lot of time, but having a plan in place will really assist you. In RC, go through all of the questions and read the passage, making tiny notes of relevant topics in the passage during the first read. You can also employ the strategy of removing the least likely option first and then selecting the correct response. All of these methods can assist you in achieving a high score.

Give mock exams:

NMAT During these 3 – 4 months of preparation, mocks should become your best friends. To succeed on the test, you must practice through mock exams, both overall and by part. Time management and prioritization are two crucial talents that come in handy in any entrance exam, and you can only develop them by taking mock exams! Solve mocks once a week 3-4 months before the exam, twice a day 2 months before the exam, and once every two days with one month until the exam. Each mock is given two days so that you can attempt it one day and spend the next day analyzing it thoroughly. This phase is more important than presenting the mock since only then will you be able to detect and correct your errors.

Pick your sections carefully:

When administering the test, the first section should either test your strengths or need more concentration than the others. For example, if quants are your strong suit, go for it first; if you need to focus more on the language portion, go for it second; and finally, go for logic. This is just an example of how you should approach sequence selection. Because everyone is different, plan beforehand. Playing to your strengths provides you with a confident start, which aids in your gradual progress through the test.

Attempt questions strategically:

Because there is no negative marking on the test, the best method to optimize your score is to attempt what you know first, then make an assumption and mark the remainder in whatever time you have left. It is not recommended that any questions go unanswered or unmarked. Every mark matters, so optimize your right efforts and, in the last minute, mark whatever is left out, go back to them, and keep solving till the time runs out if you want to get 240+.

Multiple attempts:

Unlike other MBA tests, which are only offered once a year, the NMAT by GMAC can be taken three times a year (first attempt + two retake attempts). You must wait at least 15 days between two consecutive attempts. This is a benefit you can take advantage of because universities will look at the best score out of the three attempts.

We recommend that you take the NMAT at least twice. If you're not satisfied with your results, you should try all three. NMAT takes place for the first time in late September or early October. As a result, it's possible that you're not properly prepared to take the exam. Your chances of achieving a higher score will improve if you prepare thoroughly for the next 2-3 months. So, definitely think about it.

Important Documents to Carry During NMAT 2022

Identity Proof is one of the most important documents to bring with you to the NMAT 2022 exam. Many examinations require proof of identification given in the NMAT registration. Carry at least two Identity Proofs to the examination center to be safe. Many candidates have been recorded forgetting to bring the required Identity Proof to the examination center due to exam stress. As a result, we've listed some essential documents below:

  • Carry the Printout of the confirmation E-mail.
  • Print Out of NMAT Admit Card 2022.
  • Identity Proof One.
  • Identity Proof Two.

These documents should be the same submitted at the time of NMAT registration.

Conclusion

The NMAT by GMAC is a national-level examination for MBA applicants. Many of India's most prestigious and sought-after NMAT colleges accept NMAT scores for MBA admission. Aspirants can acquire admission to prominent universities that offer MBA programs based on their NMAT GMAC scores. In other words, even a small variation in ratings can determine whether you receive the best or not. As a result, you must prepare in order to achieve the highest possible score.

Overall, this test is designed to assess your management abilities, therefore act as a manager when doing it. Prepare well by practicing every day and allocating time appropriately to each section's questions. When allocating time to each inquiry, don't let your ego override your logic. Finally, remain cool and give it your all; nothing will keep you from receiving that call!
