Another feature of the CAT exam is that it can be utilized as a substitute for the Joint Management Entrance Test by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Science (IISc) to choose students for management courses (JMET). The CAT exam is appealing since it is a completely computer-based test.

CAT Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria

The CAT exam is used to select candidates for postgraduate management programs, thus a three-year undergraduate degree from a qualified university remains the minimum requirement. This management entrance exam is open to candidates with a degree in any of the subjects. The AICTE administers the CMAT, or Common Management Aptitude Test, which is a national-level online admissions test (All India Council for Technical Education). CMAT Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria

MBA, PGDM, and similar degrees:

  • CMAT examinations are open to graduates (with a minimum 3-year degree) from all disciplines and institutions recognized by the Indian government's HRD ministry.
  • Graduate students who are awaiting results may also apply for this PGDM entrance exam.
  • To apply for this pg entrance, applicants must have a minimum aggregate of 50% in the qualifying examination.
  • To apply for the CMAT tests, reserved category candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 45 percent in their qualifying examination.


  • CMAT examinations are open to graduates (with a minimum 3-year degree) from all disciplines and institutions recognized by the Indian government's HRD ministry.
  • Graduate students who are awaiting results are also eligible to take this pg entrance test.


The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an annual online objective pg entrance test administered by India's sixteen law schools.

Candidates who meet the requirements can enroll in undergraduate (LLB) and postgraduate (LLM) programs. BALLB (Hons), BSc LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BSW LLB (Hons), and BCom LLB (Hons) are the undergraduate degrees available. CLAT Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria

  • For undergraduate studies, students must have received a 45 percent aggregate mark in their higher secondary/intermediate/ 10+2 exam or any similar test from a recognized university, and they must be under the age of 20 at the time of the exam.
  • Candidates in the SC/ST/PWD category must be under the age of 22 and must score at least 40% in the exam.
  • Candidates who have not yet taken their qualifying exams are also able to apply, but they must have passed with the required minimum percentage of marks at the time of admission.
  • For postgraduate studies, candidates must have completed the LLB/a five-year integrated LLB or a comparable degree from a recognized university. 
  • For the general category, a minimum of 55 percent is necessary, and for SC/ST and disabled candidates, a minimum of 50 percent is required.


This pg entrance exam is used to determine a graduate student's performance levels. Hundreds of students across India begin studying for GATE in their first year of college. The exam grants admission to postgraduate studies and Ph.D. programs, particularly in higher education institutions supported financially by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD). A valid GATE score is a visa that allows students to pursue post-graduate and doctoral degrees in the domains of technology, engineering, and other life sciences at these prestigious institutions. According to the institute's policies, a student may be admitted to the course without having to take another entrance test or interview performed by a specific department.

If a department conducts a separate interview or test, the GATE results receive 70% of the weighting and the test or interview receives 30%.

GATE Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria

The National Eligibility- cum- Admission Test for Postgraduate Medical Courses (NEET-PG) is the largest all-India level pg entrance exam for graduate students interested in pursuing postgraduate medical courses (MD/ MS) in reputable government or private medical institutes in India. NATBAORD is in charge of organizing NEET. The NEET pg entrance will be held in December, and registration will begin in September.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET PG

  • Candidates must have a valid MBBS degree or provisional certificate from an institution approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
  • A provisional or permanent medical registration certificate is issued by MCI or a State Medical Council. This must be done on the day of the exam as well as during the admission process.
  • Candidates who completed their MBBS in Jammu and Kashmir are not eligible for the All India 50% Quota seats. Only individuals nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to study MBBS at Medical Colleges in Jammu and Kashmir are eligible for the All India 50% quota seats. Such candidates must present an affidavit that states this.
  • Foreign Medical Graduate Examination must be passed by applicants having an MBBS degree from a country other than India (FMGE)
