The NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is a nationally recognized MBA entrance exam that will help you pursue Management degrees at India's top colleges. In the previous examination session, the NMAT underwent a lot of adjustments. An NMAT score might let you pursue MBA or PGDM programs from connected top B-schools through the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). Applicants for the management course can take this entry-level exam three times in a 75-day period, just like the GMAT exam. You must know how to prepare for the nmat exam if you want to enroll in reputable universities. We've put up eight tips to crack NMAT Exam along with detailed information to assist you in developing an NMAT exam preparation approach.

Eligibility Criteria for the NMAT

To get started on the path to your dream job, you'll need to have a few prerequisites. Before you begin the application procedure for any competitive exam, be sure you meet all of the requirements established by the relevant authorities. The following are essential NMAT eligibility requirements:

  • Candidates must have received a minimum of 50% in their undergraduate degree.
  • The exam is open to anybody above the age of 18.
  • Applicants in their final year of undergraduate studies are also eligible to apply. It would, however, be a provisional admission that might be revoked if the student failed to present the required documentation at the time of acceptance.

NMAT registration

Candidates who have completed or will complete a bachelor's degree program are eligible to apply for NMAT 2022. The Graduate Management Academic Council (GMAC) manages NMAT registration for admission to MBA programs at over 40 different institutions. Candidates must fill out an application form before booking a test through the NMAT login window. According to the proposed schedule, candidates can finish the NMAT by GMAC registration until the second week of November. The exam schedule, on the other hand, will be available for a longer time. Candidates must fill out an application form and schedule the exam in order to take the NMAT 2022 exam. The NMAT 2022 registration procedure begins with the creation of an account, followed by the completion of personal, academic, and communication information, as well as the addition of school preferences, and the payment of the application price.

Why take NMAT  Exam?

In various ways, the Graduate Management Admission Council's National Management Admission Test (NMAT) differs from other national-level management entrance tests. Because of its innovative approach to competitive exams, the NMAT is the most candidate-friendly exam.

NMAT acts as a catalyst:

The primary goal of the NMAT is to help aspirants gain admission to the nmat colleges of their choice. The NMAT by GMAC was created with worldwide management entrance tests in mind to prepare students for a global market. The emphasis is on candidate friendliness, ease, and flexibility. Students from all streams can compete on a level playing field thanks to a balanced and non-leaning exam pattern.

NMAT is adaptable:

Candidates in the NMAT have complete latitude to play to their strengths. Because the students are not required to solve the questions in any particular order, they can start with the problems that they find easiest. Candidates do not need to be concerned about challenging questions. They can then go on to other problems and return to the challenging ones later.

Aspirants who are taking the NMAT exam have the option of choosing the day, time, and location of the exam. Furthermore, because the exam had a 75-day timeframe, the candidates are not under any time constraints (exam day). They can schedule an exam when they are completely prepared.

Another feature that distinguishes NMAT from other management entrance tests is that it allows candidates to revisit their answers, reducing the risk of making mistakes.

Furthermore, there is no negative marking on the NMAT, which allows candidates to make an educated guess in the case of questions for which they don't have definitive answers.

NMAT  offers re-tests:

Candidates are given three chances to retake the test. If a student is dissatisfied with his or her performance, he or she can take the test again after a 15-day break.

The NMAT offers a variety of practice examinations, including:

  • The NMAT is India's only management exam that offers test prep material in the form of an offline guide and online practice questions.
  • The NMAT online preparation tool includes one free exam with 120 old NMAT questions and two paid exams with 120 questions each. The answer explanations and scoring are included in the purchased exam pack.
  • Candidates can practice with four full-length 120-question sets of former NMAT exams in the Official NMAT Handbook. A total of 550 questions are included in the guide.
  • GMAC offers a total of seven full-length tests. 4 questions in the NMAT by GMAC Guide and 3 questions in the online practice examinations, which total 1390 questions for applicants to practice.
  • Each of the seven full tests contains 120 questions (120*7 = 840 questions), with an additional 550 questions for practice. Candidates can prepare for the exam with 840+550 = 1390 questions in total.
  • The most significant benefit of NMAT test prep material is that, because the NMAT exam is never predictable in terms of pattern or difficulty level, these 1390 sample problems assist hopefuls in becoming comfortable with the actual test atmosphere.

Eight tips to crack NMAT Exam

1. Develop a practice strategy:

It is pointless to practice without a plan. Ask yourself questions such as when to prepare for whatever subject, how much time to dedicate to it, when to begin revising, and so on.

2. Turn your flaws into assets and bolster your strong areas:

In four simple steps, here's how to do it:

a) Work through and comprehend solved examples b) Work through and understand unsolved exercises

c) After that, take NMAT practice tests. d) Finally, solve NMAT question papers from past years.

For each topic, try to practice roughly 20 questions in each step.

3. In the last several days, revision should be at the forefront of your mind:

The more basic ideas you understand, the more assured you will be in solving all of the questions correctly on the actual exam. To get a good grade on the exam, go over the basics of all the chapters again.

4. Practice shortcuts:

Do not waste time practicing strange questions if you are certain about any topic or subject. Learn how to solve time-consuming questions quickly and practice NMAT through GMAC mock examinations.

5. Effective time management.

Each section has a time constraint for completion; for example, the NMAT will have a segmental time limit. Keep an onscreen or physical timer handy while practicing to keep track of the time and ensure that you not only finish the portion on time but also have ample time for review. The duration of each section is listed in the table below.

6. Alternate how you practice subjects:

Ensure that you alternate sections during your training so that you obtain equal practice and preparation in all three categories. For example, on one day (or a few days), practice the Quant component and the Language Skills sections. This will help you stay in the right mindset for practice. For example, dedicate the Quant and Logical Reasoning section to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and the Language Skills section to Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

7. Alternate how you practice individual topics:

Alter your particular themes in the same way you change between parts. Don't get stuck on a single issue for days on end. When you change sections, try to go to a new subject. This is crucial when revising. You won't have time to focus on other issues if you cling to one topic for too long.

8. Use the last month to revise and prepare for sample tests:

Spend the last month of your preparation going through the essentials and practicing NMAT mock tests. In the final days before the exam, solving previous years' NMAT question papers is crucial. There is a probability that questions from previous years will be asked again.

These are a few pointers to help you prepare for the NMAT exam. The better your preparation, the better your chances of getting into a prestigious B-School. Numerous institutes in India and worldwide accept NMAT by GMAC scores. Remember that the secret to success is hard work. You will undoubtedly pass the test if you work diligently.
