Finish Your PGDM despite Pandemic
For many students, their PGDM degree may have remained incomplete by just a few months because of the sudden lockdown in early 2020. Others may have completed one year of their program -- exactly halfway from their coveted degree. They should not feel guilty about it but try to see how they can complete the course and move on. It’s an abnormal time and minimizing the negative impacts of this is, in fact, our victory.
Now that Covid-19 has taken the shape of a pandemic ravaging the entire world, what should these students do? Should they stay at home completely shutting off the academic activities?
We are sure many of these students may be from ITM Business School. The least they can do is to realize the value of PGDM from ITM. The ITM PGDM is going to be the most powerful entry on their CV when they look for jobs during or after the pandemic. But they can do so only when they have completed the degree.
New students who have not been able to take admission to PGDM programmes because of the lockdown should start the admission process. ITM Business School has kept its admission process open throughout the lockdown period. You can call up the admission counselor or fill up the online inquiry form to get on with the process.
Executive Management Programmes
A Post Graduate Programme in Management for working professionals can enhance their career at their workplaces. If they have not been able to complete the program in only a few months, they can contact their institutions to find out the next course of action for them. In all probability, the institutions may be running online programs to help these students complete their programmes. That’s the only sensible thing on the parts of both the students and the institutions.
It is important to understand that completing a program will get them a highly sought-after professional degree. They can show the degree to the organization as proof that they have learned new skills and updated their knowledge base to conform to the contemporary needs. For exactly these reasons, they had joined the program. Now, they should definitely try to achieve these goals.
For example, someone doing a post-graduate diploma in operations management can let the organization know that he is now equipped with the latest knowledge, tools, and software related to operations management. Now, he can look forward to more critical assignments and better remuneration.
Students of Regular Fulltime Programmes
Students who were part of a full-time program and could not complete the course due to the Covid-19 should try and finish their respective programs. Most institutions have tried to offer the incomplete part of the programme through the online mode.
Students should use this opportunity to complete their degrees and start their careers. Given the disastrous spell of the Covid-19 pandemic, they should consider themselves fortunate to be able to complete the program and enter employment. New students are not able to start the PGDM program because of the continued lockdown.
As the pandemic has thrown up unique challenges including a complete breakdown of educational activities, our response must be intelligent enough to avoid its fallouts as much as possible. If you are part of a professional educational program, you must complete the program as per the schedule. This alone would mean that you have successfully escaped the negative impacts of the pandemic.
For a PGDM student, accurate and fast thinking is critical. If their decisions bring benefits, they can consider themselves to be true management professionals.
The ITM Business School has been running online programs for students who could not complete their PGDM programs. All concerned should understand the value of PGDM from ITM or its Post Graduate Programme in Management. They directly lead to jobs for fresh graduates while for working executives, it means important responsibilities and perks.
