Program Structure

Starting with a short pre-term startup session, you will be allotted your program specialization at the beginning of the program, based on your choice and a career assessment test that will help you decide what specialization suits your profile. Once this is done, you will be assigned into a cohort of students who will remain together throughout the program duration. With this, the first academic term of the program commences. This term, called “The Initialization” is of six months duration and delivers a set of 8 courses, which include core courses and specialization courses.

The Insight Sessions

In parallel, you will begin a journey towards an enduring and rewarding career through the Insight Sessions. Insight is a range of workshops, seminars, field experiences and other sessions that will prepare you in ways that an academic program cannot- challenging you to build your attitudes, holistic management, character building, communication skills, analytical capabilities and more.

Finally, you will engage in a co-curricular NGO/CSR live project with an NGO, NPO or Charitable Association to build your sensitivity to the harsh realities of the real world and understand what it means to be socially responsible.

Next comes the radically different part of the ITM PGDM program, the iConnect Core. iConnect Core is a 6-month industry immersion, but its designed to be much more than an extended summer project or internship. As part of a student team, you will be placed with companies to work on specific projects, and to support functional teams within the company and in the field. ITM faculty members, who will be embedded alongside you at the internship company will provide guidance and insight. They will support your work at the company, and will also mentor and train you when you are back in the classroom.

The Regroup Sessions

iConnect Core is designed to integrate industry and academics into a seamless experience. To make this happen, iConnect Core is structured to accommodate a set of 1 week academic interventions, called the Regroup Sessions, for every 4 weeks spent working full-time with the project company.

During these 5 one-week “Regroup” sessions, students will attend one very intensive full-time course each week. In addition, each student’s performance of the last 4 weeks will be assessed via feedback from the Internship Manager and the embedded faculty.

Note: In some cases, based on project/company requirements, up to two Regroup Sessions may be clubbed to give you an uninterrupted 8 weeks of industry immersion. The entire industry immersion, including the Regroup Sessions will be subject to concurrent evaluation by both the faculty and the project company, and will determine your overall performance in the ITM PGDM iConnect program.

Notes: For PGDM International Business: iConnect Core will run from Feb-Apr 2013 followed by the International Study Term from May-Jul 2013.

The ITM PGDM iConnect program is a radically different approach to business education. Hence, while we shall work to ensure that the program stays true to its structure, ITM reserves the right to modify or remove any part of the program, at its sole discretion.

Once iConnect Core is completed, you will take up the next full-time academic term, called ‘The Consolidation’ from July – December 2013. In this session, you will take 6 advanced courses to complete your specialization focus and a second tranche of the Insight Sessions, designed to prepare for final placement. Final placement begins in October with recruiting companies coming onto campus for Pre-Placement Talks and short listing of candidates.

The final session of the ITM PGDM iConnect is The Capstone. True to its name, The Capstone is a real-world multi-disciplinary project taken up by teams of students, designed challenge their understanding of the various courses taught in the preceding terms and their proficiency in business analysis and strategy.

The Radically Different ITM PGDM ends with a life-long connection to the people who have made your experience so enriching, as you pursue your ambitions and professional goals. As an Alum of the ITM Group, you will get numerous opportunities to reconnect with your cohort and your faculties and help to extend the iConnect experience far beyond the boundaries of your business education. Besides, through our EEC programs that are offered all over India, you are always linked in with hundreds of executives across all functions in many corporations across India.

Ecole Superieure des Sciences Commerciales d’Angers) is one of the best-known French business schools offering both undergraduate and graduate courses. Located in two places in, Angers in France and Budapest in Hungary, ESSCA is a member of the “Conference des Grandes Ecoles” and the “European Foundation for Management and Development”. ESSCA, created by the Catholic University has a lineage of a century. Together, with the Budapest University of Economic Science, the Budapest International Management semester taught entirely in English, as well as a B.Sc course in Business Administration. 

Ecole de Management is an accredited higher education institute with a 135 year-old heritage. It is a privately funded charitable trust and a highly-rated university in all of France. EMN has both undergraduate and graduate programs and is supported by the Chambers of Commerce of Celen and Le Havre.

The focal point of the program is the 3-month intensive program that starts with an induction model and foundation course along with a two day seminar on personal growth followed by a 10 to 12 weeks European Study Term. The program takes students to France and Hungary to be trained by international faculties and directly exposed to the realities of business operations in the EU and Eastern Europe.

In Budapest, Hungary, where the group attends a customized “Doing business in Europe” program conducted by Group ESSCA, a Grande Ecole institution. The Budapest Summer Program focuses on the nuances of business practices in Central and Eastern Europe through company visits, interactions with executives from top corporate organizations and intensive classroom interaction with international faculties.

Next on to EM Normandie, France the group attends a “Doing Business in Western Europe” program.

In addition to a thorough theoretical understanding of business, PGDM IB students are encouraged to engage in practical aspects of business management through the proven case-based learning methodology, capstone project and ITM’s Global Industry Immersion Program, which is held in collaboration with host institutions in Europe and Singapore and leading companies in India. Together, these help students appreciate the complexity of business through experiential learning.

Summer Internship Project Experience.

“We the students of IB batch had the best of the international exposure during our Europe-France and Hungary’s summer internship course.

We had a highly enriching experience both culturally and educationally. Classes in the International B-Schools like ESSCA (Budapest) and EM Normandie (Caen, France) gave us the opportunity to interact with some of the best faculty of internationally reputed B- schools and learn subjects through their experiences in the international market.

The project tours were highly enriching and practically educative. We were taken to some of the best chosen field factory outlets like in automobile we were given a chance to visit the best world class automobile manufacturers like Magyar Suzuki, Audi and Porsche in Budapest. The interaction session at the European Commission Brussels made us aware about the rules and policy of framework of the EU in terms of doing business in EU which was a privileged and a lifetime opportunity for students in the International Business course.

We also were taken to city tours in Budapest, Brussels and Caen which showcased their culture and their historical importance of some of Europe’s best monuments with their significance.

This Europe internship exclusively designed for the IB batch taught us the lessons on international competitiveness and gave us enriching world class business exposure which is the need of the hour”
