Mumbai, 12th July 2016: ‘Spark Plug: 2016’, The Annual Design event by students of ITM Institute  for Fashion, Design and Technology has offered an exquisite feast for eye for Fashion enthusiasts  with a thrilling fashion and Interior design display. Bright aspiring Fashion and interior designers  of ITM IFDT presented eclectic melange of creative styles and displays which reflect their future  aspirations at an evening of fun, Fashion and Design.

The couture collections designed by student designers were inspired by themes like journey of  the soul, Free Spirit, Hip Hop, Warrior Princess and Fantasy under Water. The event saw the  presence of celebrated fashion personalities like Meher Castelino Mistry, India’s first beauty  queen as the guest of honor.

The Students of the Interior Design Department showcased their academic projects which  included their  research folders, concept visual diaries, scale models of various projects. They  also showcased prototypes of lamps, furniture and various other products which were created in  the in house workshop assisted by trained faculty members. The models and prototypes were  appreciated by the guests from the Industry.

While speaking on the occasion, Meher Castelino Mistry said, “The glamour of the fashion  industry draws many people into fashion careers, making it one of the most competitive  professions. However, the industry involves numerous other roles as well, such as makeup artist,  stylist, textile designer, retail merchandiser, graphic designer, photographer, publicist and  marketing professional. The field is extremely competitive, but if youre driven to pursue a  fashion career, aim for the specific career path that fits you best.”

She has also advised aspiring designers to launch their career with a well known label instead of  risking career by starting with own label, which can turn out to become professional suicide.

Alesia Raut, popular Indian model, VJ, and fashion choreographer and Candice Pinto Miss  Tourism International 2002 were the showstopper for the ramp walk. Show stoppers along with  ten other models flaunted the collections designed by students at the show.

The show was co judged by Adiiti Walke, Senior designer of Spykar denims and Mitali Ambekar, a well known celebrity stylist .

Students showcased their talent and creativity in designing an image beyond the world of fantasy at Spark Plug. The design oozes with enthusiasm and energy made the garments look  very beautiful and extra ordinary. The show was followed by a glitzy award ceremony for the Best Design Collection, Best Commercially Viable Collection, A Special Jury Award, Best Interior  Design Concept, Best Exhibit Interior Design, Best Interior Design Project, Best Interior Design  Concept.
